On April 6th, 2002, the Yonkers DW BID sponsored a fundraiser at Philipse Manor Hall to benefit the Friends' efforts to restore the Civil War Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument. One of the mandates of the BID is the restoration or rehabilitation of public spaces. The fundraiser brought in a total of $17,500.

On July 29th, Ira Goldman, President of the Friends of Philipse Manor Hall, signed contracts with Remco of New York City, specialists in historic rehabilitation with special divisions dealing with marble and metal restoration.

The rededication of the monument took place on Saturday, September 14th, 2002 at Philipse Manor Hall.

On Monday, August 19th, work began on cleaning the marble base of the monument using pressurized water.
