CRISIS ON THE NEPPERHAN
Teachers Guide
Objective:
- Understanding the impact human activities have upon the natural environment.
- Learning to use primary and secondary sources in research.
Goal:
- Discovering the impact of industrialization upon the Nepperhan River and downtown Yonkers and the motives of the municipal government in resolving the crisis.
Concept:
- The students are presented with a variety of primary and secondary materials and documents located on the Philipse Manor Hall web site from which conclusions are to be drawn. The students should use these documents to interpret the event.
