Constructed by the municipal government in 1900 for the enjoyment of the people of Yonkers, the Pier is one of the few structures of its type remaining on the Hudson. Its broad decks cooled by river breezes, the two–story steel pier boasts facilities for docking as well as a panoramic view stretching from the George Washington Bridge to the Tappan Zee.
