The red tile roof of Becker & Levy’s 1929 classical revival design lends a touch of the Mediterranean to North Broadway. Part of the former Albany–New York Post Road, this curving stretch of the street features Yonkers’ finest collection of turn–of–the–century commercial buildings.

As land values soared in the downtown, taller and larger office buildings were erected. The new Art Deco style made its appearance with the construction of the Park Building in 1929. Recessed windows set between bold piers that project well above the parapet accent the sense of upward movement and verticality associated with the style in this design by William Katz.
